Cheese Ranch Fieldwork trip
Our crew had a great time walking to Cheese Ranch and observing birds. We enjoyed seeing some ducks, chickadees, and many song birds.
We found lots of cupped and cavity nests and heared many great bird sounds.
Birds
We have kicked off our second expedition, Birds. We have loved learning about what makes a bird a bird and exploring their beaks, feathers and feet.
We have been researching and learning about birds that live in Colorado. As a first grade crew we learned about the Bald Eagle. Now, each child is researching thier own Colorado bird (blue heron, blue jay, peregrine falcon, red tailed hawk, robin, woodpecker, hummingbird, great horned owl).
We are so excited to create some high quality work and teach our families and community.
