At Home Practice


At Home Practice:

Please be sure to read the weekly email for important details. 

** Weekly homework task- found in Thursday folder and/or weekly email**


1. Play outside for 30-60 minutes 


2.  Eat dinner as a family (discuss highs (best part of the day) and lows (hard part of your day).


3.  Have your child read from their book bag and practice retelling the story. Practice sight words for a few minutes each night. 


4.  Read to your child - 20 minutes or more! Reading texts aloud is the single most important activity for building the knowledge required for successful reading (McCormick, 1977).


5. iReady lessons for 20 minutes once or twice a week. 


6.  Make sure your child gets 10-11 hours of sleep each night.

Birds

Our first graders are loving becoming ornithologists and learning all about birds. Students have been researching and observing birds. All...
