Celebration of Learning
What a special evening! Thank you so much for taking the time to come, listen to your child and learn more about birds.
I am so amazed by our first graders. They researched, asked questions, observed and wrote some amazing high quality bird books. I learned more about birds each day with them.
It was so fun getting to hear each child's reflections at each station and share what was important to them.

Hawk Quest
We had a wonderful experience and has the oppoirtunity for Hawk Quest to visit the first grade crew! We were able to see a Harris Haw, A Peregrine Falcon, a Great Horned Owl and a Bald Eagle!
This was a special experience and we loved sharing our knowledge as well as learning more things! We learned that the Great Horned Owl can turn its heads 270 degrees. The Peregrine Falcon is the fastest animal on Earth and can go 240 mph in a dive.
We also loved getting to see things up close! We had learned about birds feet at the begining of our expedition and were able to see each of the birds toes and how they functioned in a different way.
